Breathe In The Power!

One specific physical practice that is super simple and can also have an unbelievable effect on how you look, feel, and perform every moment of the day is...

Can you guess?

Deep breathing.

This has been a favorite subject of mine for years and no matter what you hear or what you read, the simple fact of the matter is this:

The deeper, more regularly and more quietly you can breathe every day, the healthier, stronger and more beautiful you will become.

That sounds pretty good doesn't it? And the best part is that it costs absolutely nothing! All you need to do is get in the freshest air you can and breathe as much of it as you can into your lungs and cells every day. There are different ways of breathing that can have different effects on your energy levels and changes in your body, but on the whole, the best bet is to relax as much as you can (while doing everything that needs to be done) and breathe in as much oxygen as possible to feed your cells.

What's the best way to start?

Start by doing a complete exhale. Slowly blow out as much air as you can from your lungs... and then a little bit more... and a tiny bit more. Then relax and let your lungs bring in their full measure to fill the void created. Blow the air out through your mouth, bring the air in through your nose (so that it can be filtered). With everyday practice you will find your body bringing in much more air and relaxing with a lot less effort. Then even just breathing through your nose in and out will saturate every cell in your body with healing super powered energy!

Another great bonus of learning to notice your breathing is learning the basics of meditation. The simplest beginning meditations are those that are all about noticing or counting the breath. Whenever you feel your stress levels rising, bring your attention to your breath. Notice if it's shallow or deep, fast or slow, erratic or regular, loud or soft. This will bring you back to the present moment and calm your mind. Used regularly, it can make you super calm and help you have crystal clear thinking in even the craziest situations.

Breathe deeply every moment of every day and watch your power levels explode!
