Sometimes we just have to keep things super simple.
Here's one lesson that, if understood profoundly, can allow you to create a reality of unbelievable greatness and tearful smiles for yourself. A life of unlimited freedom and unending joy. In other words... the life of your dreams.
Here it is:
WHAT YOU FOCUS ON GROWS.
If you can remember this, understand it and use it, that's all you'll ever need to know.
Focus on what you want. The more it fills up your mind, the more it will fill up your world. Remember this and you will live a life that others see as blessed...
Deep down, you know it. Now, remember it. Put it to use.
What you focus on grows.
As long as you remember this, nothing else is needed. All else will come out of this.
What you focus on grows.
Figure out what you want and focus on it.
Decide, then let no power on earth deter you from it. It's this or better.
Thank you. I love you.

Breathe In The Power!

One specific physical practice that is super simple and can also have an unbelievable effect on how you look, feel, and perform every moment of the day is...
Can you guess?
Deep breathing.
This has been a favorite subject of mine for years and no matter what you hear or what you read, the simple fact of the matter is this:
The deeper, more regularly and more quietly you can breathe every day, the healthier, stronger and more beautiful you will become.
That sounds pretty good doesn't it? And the best part is that it costs absolutely nothing! All you need to do is get in the freshest air you can and breathe as much of it as you can into your lungs and cells every day. There are different ways of breathing that can have different effects on your energy levels and changes in your body, but on the whole, the best bet is to relax as much as you can (while doing everything that needs to be done) and breathe in as much oxygen as possible to feed your cells.
What's the best way to start?
Start by doing a complete exhale. Slowly blow out as much air as you can from your lungs... and then a little bit more... and a tiny bit more. Then relax and let your lungs bring in their full measure to fill the void created. Blow the air out through your mouth, bring the air in through your nose (so that it can be filtered). With everyday practice you will find your body bringing in much more air and relaxing with a lot less effort. Then even just breathing through your nose in and out will saturate every cell in your body with healing super powered energy!
Another great bonus of learning to notice your breathing is learning the basics of meditation. The simplest beginning meditations are those that are all about noticing or counting the breath. Whenever you feel your stress levels rising, bring your attention to your breath. Notice if it's shallow or deep, fast or slow, erratic or regular, loud or soft. This will bring you back to the present moment and calm your mind. Used regularly, it can make you super calm and help you have crystal clear thinking in even the craziest situations.
Breathe deeply every moment of every day and watch your power levels explode!

The Lamp Lights the Way
There is a young man looking for something in a closet and he finds an old duffel bag in there. It's not very big but there are a few things in there. Some old jeans, a running shoe, a book on gardening... oh, and an old-style oil lamp just like in the Disney movie "Alladin".
He sits down on the floor and laughs as he rub the sides of the lamp to get his three wishes... if only it were true.
Then he notices that something is different.
The floor, which was dark, speckled-brown carpet, looks like it's dirt, and feels like it too. He looks around and nothing looks like the room he was in just a moment ago. There is no room, no walls, no ceiling... just openness in every direction.
There is a voice inside his mind. It speaks to him. It tells him, in a voice without words... communicating simply with images and feelings... that whatever he wishes to be, do or have is only a command away. He has but to ask and the way will be shown. Mostly the man must go get what he desires but the way is made clear for him at his command. And there is no limit on the number of wishes... ask and he will receive.
What is your wish?
What would be even better?
If we could bring you something even better, would you be open to receiving it?
Are you willing to follow the directions we give you if we guarantee that you will get your wish or something greater?
Wonderful, this is what you must do first...
All of a sudden, the young man wakes up, lying on the floor, the old lamp in his lap. Oh, I was dreaming... wasn't I?
***
I would like to propose that you try something, and you have to completely suspend your disbelief. This is just make-belief but it can help you to really expand your mind.
Ready?
OK. Here's a fun little game:
Pretend that you have this magical lamp. When you rub the lamp, you can ask for anything. The lamp guarantees you that which you desire, or something greater, but you have to do the "pick-up" yourself. That means that you are given the directions to go get your wish. You can wish for anything. ANYTHING. And it's always guaranteed if you command with confidence... all you have to do is go get it.
If you could be, do or have anything, what would you wish for?
What would be even better?
If you could have the directions to have your dream come true, or something better, and all you had to do was follow them to pick it up when it was ready, would you do it?
Let me tell you a secret...
If you learn to listen to that still, strong voice within, you have found your inner genie. And if you follow it's directions, you have found the secret of the lamp within you. You ARE your own magical lamp.
Go ahead, rub your belly. The lamp inside of you lights the way.

A Vision to Lead You

On Saturday a friend taught a very powerful class for fellow business owners. The class began with him asking us if we were satisfied with the progress over the last week, most said no. Then we explored a little bit more into what holds us back from doing what we need to do to move forward and why. All of it was very interesting, and helpful, but what struck a deep chord with me was the finish.
This man had once participated in an intense, week-long "Warrior School" and felt that we could benefit from a simple little mental exercise he learned there. The basics of it involved simply holding and describing the image of a warrior in your mind. This warrior could serve as a source of inspiration and motivation to help you through difficult times. With that vision we concluded the class.
Here's something similar which you can use today. Take a few deep breaths to calm your body and mind before you start.
First, write down your top 3-5 goals for your life and where you would like to be soon. All of the most successful men and women in history have written goals. Just having written goals can make you more successful than 97% of the population according to one famous 20 year study. So quit your whining and write down you goals.
Second, find the strongest reasons why you want to achieve them. The reasons must be strong enough to cause some emotion in you when you think about them... or they are useless. They have to make you want to jump for joy, cry out in outrage or well up with tears. Unless you feel strongly about what you want, you won't do what is necessary... especially if it's hard.
Third, in your mind, allow the image of a warrior, healer, teacher or guide of some kind to pop in. Someone who will help you be who you need to be, even when you feel you can't. What image comes to mind? Who can make you do exactly what you need to do just by thinking about them? What character would inspire you the most? It can be someone real or imaginary, as long as you are inspired. Imagine this mentor in as much detail as possible, from the soles of their feet to the top of their head. What do they look like? What are they wearing? How do they stand? Move? Talk? Breathe? What do their eyes look like? How steady is their gaze? Describe them to yourself.
Fourth, feel them with you. I know this may sound a little bit strange, but this is way more than just an imaginary friend. This is the true power of your mind at work. When you vividly imagine this being with you, and FEEL their presence by your side, you can then call them to your side whenever you need them for inspiration, motivation and support. In this way, you can know that there is always someone there with you, there to help and encourage. You are never truly alone.
Fifth, imagine that they are standing right in front of you. You are looking at their back. Now, take a step forward and enter their body. You are now looking at the world through their eyes and walking around in their form. What does it feel like to be them? Feel their energy. Feel their power. Feel their confidence, their certainty. Doesn't that feel good? You can use this and remember it when you don't feel so strong or so certain. Bring your mind back to this exercise and remember how it felt to be the ultimate.
Now, write down a few words or a short paragraph to anchor those images and feelings in your mind (something that brings you right back to it when you read it), and practice it twice a day.
Put yourself in that experience of power first thing in the morning as you are waking up and last thing before you fall asleep at night. Drive it deep in your mind until it becomes a natural part of who you are. Use the vision of this imaginary mentor to allow you to become the person you need to be to accomplish the dreams you have.
Use that vision to lead you to success.
